Paul Rupp studied organ at the University of Akron in Ohio with Barbara McGregor, a student of the famous Marie-Claire Alain of France. Paul later went with Diane Bish on her Joy of Music television taping tour of cathedrals and organs in Italy in 1998. He returned to Europe to visit the famous organs of France and Switzerland in 1999.
Paul has taught K-8 music, and has been on the music staff at Santaluces High School in Lake Worth, Florida, and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
Paul has served as Principal Organist and Church Accompanist at North Naples Church since January 2008.
He has served for 12 years as Concert Organist for the Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches, under the direction of Virgil Fox organ student and Julliard graduate, Dr. Jack Jones. Major works performed on pipe organ with full orchestra and 80 voice choir include the entire Händel Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Saint-Saens Oratorio, Mary Caldwell’s A Season A Time, and Rutter’s Every Time I Feel the Spirit with Metropolitan Opera Singer Marilyn Mims.
His most interesting musical experience was accompanying a knighted tenor from Holland.
Paul served as Organist at Sanlando UMC in Longwood, Florida near Orlando for 10 years. He was organist at Lakeside Presbyterian Church on the intracoastal waterway of West Palm Beach under the direction of Harold Bradley for 5 years. Major works included a Mendelssohn concert, A Tribute to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir directed by a former conductor of the Tabernacle, and composer Z. Randall Stroope’s Workshop and concert.
Paul grew up hearing beautiful organ music every week, as his Mom has been organist at the same Lutheran church in Ohio for 55 years! His sister, Diana, has been a bell director and a member of a concert bell choir that has toured the country. Paul enjoys returning to Ohio for family visits.
