Kathy Sweet received a Bachelor of Science degree from S.U.N.Y Oswego in elementary education with a concentration in early childhood and psychology. She holds a Master of Arts degree in reading from Hofstra University. She started her twenty-seventh year teaching career in a small Catholic school on Long Island in New York. After, she taught in the public schools in Syosset, New York and in Collier County. Mrs. Sweet has spent the last twelve years teaching kindergarten at the Village School. Her experiences include teaching pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, and third grade reading. Mrs. Sweet lives with a husband, two children, her father, a dog, a tortoise, a guinea pig, and fish. She is excited to join the administrative staff this year as the Lower School Principal and is looking forward to working with the students, faculty, staff and parents.
