Dr. Jeff Leigh is an active performer, composer, and teacher in the Naples, FL area. He performs regularly as a violinist with the Naples Philharmonic and teaches violin, piano, music theory and composition privately at The Village School Performing Arts program. Jeff is also serving as worship leader and assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel Gulf Coast.
Jeff has held faculty positions at Wheaton College Conservatory (Asst. Professor), and recently taught at Naples Christian Academy. He holds a PhD in composition from CUNY Grad Center, two M.M. degrees from the University of Akron, and a B.M. in violin performance from Indiana University.
Combining his violin and compositional background, Jeff has been known to improvise live on street corners and in collaboration with local artists. On several occasions, he had performed live at the Naples Conservancy, improvising to visual images of nature photography. Using his violin, an amplifier, and a digital loop station, Jeff creates a unique soundscape through improvised layers of violin sound and effects.
