TVS Knights invited to International Robotic Championship!

The Village School goes to the First Lego League International Open in California

Team #374, The Cyber Knights from The Village School of Naples started the season volunteering in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma never knowing they would end their First Lego League season advancing to the FLL Open Championship in Carlsbad, CA! Ironically the theme for this year’s robotic season is HYDRODYNAMIC. The Village School of Naples has two competing robotic teams and both received awards at last weekend’s Regional Championships in Plant City against 35 teams.
Team #1206, The Electro Knights won the Directors Award and Team #374 won a Championship Award and an invitation to the First Lego League International Open. The International Open will welcome a total of 74-80 teams from around the world. It is a three-day competition at LEGOLAND CALIFORNIA May 18, 19, and 20th. The Cyber Knight’s team consist of 8 members; Chase H, Niki R, Olivia R, Zackary D, Ethan H, Mia S, Logan L, A, one High school mentor, Savanah S and coach Deneen Athey.
The team competes on three levels, Core Values, Project, and Robotic Table. There will be only one other team from Central Florida representing our state. The teams that are attending come from as far away as New Zealand to Scandinavia. The Cyber Knights of The Village School are proud to represent Florida in the International Robotic Championship.

“These team members are our next generation of Engineers that know how to fail and keep going until they get it right. I am so proud of them of both teams!” Coach Athey
