BASKETBALL CONFERENCE CHAMPS!
Congratulations to the Middle School Girls Basketball team, coached by former NFL player and local legend Albert Bentley, on winning the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship. On Thursday, January 26th the girls entered the tournament as a #3 seed and upset the #2 seed Marco Island Charter Middle School. Later that night they came back to play the #1 seed, Community School of Naples in their home gym. After a hard-fought game, the girls were crowned the Conference Championship with a 22-21 victory. In the fourth quarter of the Championship game the team’s two leading point scorers fouled out, but in a true show of teamwork, the team still managed to bring home the victory! What a great time to be a Village School Knight!
